Background and context

Cage fighting is a form of mixed martial arts that involves the use of nearly any punch, kick, knee, elbow, or hold. Many consider it to be more violent and bloody than boxing. And, this has caused significant opposition by some groups, which are often the same ones that call for banning boxing.

Should Cage Fighting (or MMA) be banned for it being too violent?

Cage fighting is nothing more than a human cockfight. It pits two human beings with no prior argument into a caged in arena where they attempt as hard as they can to cause as much pain as possible to the other man. There is no room for such a barbaric sport in today's society.

"Boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and Brazillian Jiu=Jitsu are all sports that are considered to be acceptable in today's society. Mixed martial arts is a sport that, as it's name suggests, combines different aspects from all of these sports. It brings in striking from boxing and Muay Thai, holds from wrestling, and submissions from BJJ. If all of these sports are considered to be okay, then why would MMA be any different?"
