Thanks for the corrections

Thanks for the copy-editing on the same-sex marriage debate. -- Brooks Lindsay 14:58, 18 January 2008 (CST)

Gay marriage

Good argument about the social pressures that can exist on homosexuals to marry straight, and that damage that this can cause. It worked your writing into and existing argument along those lines. And, thanks also for the student lockers edit. PS. Great video clip

DebatTie, thanks for bringing in the Don't Ask Don't tell video clip. I've moved it to the Gays in the Military debate. Debate:Gays in the Military. I hope this makes sense. DebaTie, I would love to bring you into the community more and help guide you through our objectives. If you'd like, I'm planning on working a whole bunch on the Same Sex Marriage debate tomorrow, and I could walk you through what I'm doing and the principles that apply. Certainly, there is alot of work that needs doing on the Gay Marriage debate. If your interested, you can follow my edits on the recent changes feature in the "interactions" box at the left or on the history page of the debate page. Hope to see you on the page editing tomorrow -- Brooks Lindsay 17:34, 16 January 2008 (CST)

Same sex marriage debate

DebaTie, that section is not meant for arguments. In addition, Debatepedia is a place to document arguments, and I'm not sure that's what you're doing there. The statement is more of personal declaration of belief, it appears, than outlining a specific line of argument. That's the other point, your arguments need to be specific, isolated arguments, as with some of the other arguments presented in the article. The writing you presented, however, is more of a blanket claim with not enough specificity or, at least, separation between the various points made in that short paragraph. -- Brooks Lindsay 16:03, 16 January 2008 (CST)
