Should McDonalds be allowed to put toys in happy meals?

Background and context

For many years, McDonald's restaurants have been putting toys in Happy Meals. Some say that these toys do not increase obesity levels, but, according to the National Center for Health Statistics, two-thirds of the American adult population is either overweight or obese. Are these toys in children’s meals one of the contributors to this growing obesity problem? Do the toys encourage children to buy more fast food? Some counties have already banned the distribution of toys in meals that contain excessive amounts of calories, sodium, sugar, fat, and other unhealthy ingredients. Will this ban help stop growing obesity levels? Or would a ban such as this just be too much government control?

Yes, Mc Donalds should definitely be allowed to put toys in Happy Meals. By not doing so the meal would barely be 'happy' would it?

Why should families pay an extra amount for a toy of bad quality when they can get a better toy at a local store. So what if the meal isn't happy? Make the kid happy later.
