  • Public funding should not go toward controversial parades. Governments should not spend taxpayer dollars in ways that a large percentage of taxpayers strongly, personally oppose.
  • Gay parades do not fulfill any compelling state interest. Gay parades are not sufficiently important and beneficial to citizens to justify public expenditures. They do not compare in importance to funding for schools, public health, and security.
