Is Legalization of Homosexuality in a Conservative country like India Justifiable

Background and context:

Recently, Section 377 which states that sexual intercourse between the same sexes is prohibited under the indian penal code was decriminalized. Is it a way forward?

  • Societies should embrace change, including allowing homosexuality. The activists who support homosexuality state that it is high time that we become more open to modernization and move on from being a conservative society. They believe that Indians will have to accept homosexuality and often quote Heraclitus-"Nothing endures but change".
