Reasons to agree

  1. John R. Llewellyn, former polygamist. "Polygamy vs. common sense. Tricked into Eternal Polygamy". Retrieved 4.24.08 - "God gave us an ego and the ability to think. He gave us the will power to control our desires. That’s how we differ from the animals, not by repudiating sex, but by controlling our sexual desires for the betterment of society. Philosophers have been telling us for hundreds of years that sex is like a fire and if not controlled can be as destructive as it is creative."
  2. This harms men's development. Society has an entrest in ensuring that men develop this control and therefore have a compelling interest in regulating polygamy.

Reasons to disagree

  1. Polygamous men still can't sleep with anyone they want.
